Sir Ivan
HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Sir IvanakaPeaceman

Banker-turned-singer, philanthropist, and peace activist Ivan Wilzig, known globally as Sir Ivan, has led a life that feels pulled from a Hollywood screenplay — rooted in a lifelong commitment to peace, equality, and human connection.

Born January 6, 1956, in Clifton, New Jersey, Ivan earned a bachelor’s degree in European Intellectual History from the University of Pennsylvania, followed by a law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Rather than practice law, he joined his father, Holocaust survivor Siggi B. Wilzig (UnstoppableSiggi.com), in running The Trust Company of New Jersey, eventually serving on the board of the family’s commercial banking enterprise.

After more than two decades in finance, Ivan walked away from banking to pursue music full-time — adopting the moniker Sir Ivan and committing his artistic voice to themes of universal love, peace, and social justice.

THE RECORDING ARTIST

Sir Ivan’s recording career began with a groundbreaking high-energy dance reimagining of John Lennon’s Imagine,” released on Tommy Boy Records just one week before September 11, 2001. The track broke into the Billboard Dance/Club Play charts and marked the first time a Lennon or Beatles ballad had been officially remade as a modern dance record — reintroducing its message to a new generation.

Over the next decade, Sir Ivan achieved multiple chart successes, including Top 10 placements on Billboard and the UK’s Music Week charts. His releases blended EDM, electro-pop, and message-driven songwriting, leading to collaborations with iconic artists such as Taylor Dayne and Debbie Gibson, as well as Grammy Award-winning producers Jason Evigan, Peter Rafelson, Tracy Young, Midi Mafia, and Omar Okram. He has also worked with other notable names, including Paul Oakenfold, Markus Schulz, and Jeff Timmons (of music group 98 Degrees). Throughout his catalog, he consistently addressed themes of anti-bullying, LGBTQ+ inclusion, and human rights.

THE PEACEMAN

In parallel with his music career, Sir Ivan founded The Peaceman Foundation (ThePeacemanFoundation.org), through which he has donated more than $500,000 to causes supporting anti-bullying initiatives, LGBTQ+ youth, PTSD research, and victims of violence.

On stage and in media appearances, he is often known as “Peaceman,” performing in a superhero cape emblazoned with a peace symbol — a visual embodiment of his belief that music can be both uplifting and transformative.

CULTURAL IMPACT & RECOGNITION

Sir Ivan has appeared on television programs worldwide and has been featured in documentaries, reality television, and cultural media. He is also co-owner of the World Erotic Art Museum (WEAM) in Miami Beach, home to the largest privately owned collection of fine erotic art in the United States. Sir Ivan’s mother, the late Naomi Wilzig, founded and created the Museum.

In 2018, the City of Miami Beach proclaimed December 12 as “Sir Ivan Wilzig Day” in recognition of his advocacy against bullying and violence. That same year, he joined the Dean’s Leadership Advisory Board for the College of Communication, Architecture + the Arts (CARTA) at Florida International University.

THE MODERN ERA

Since 2018, Sir Ivan has entered a new creative chapter — refining his role not simply as a dance music artist, but as a modern peace-anthem songwriter working within contemporary electronic music culture.

In 2022, he released LIFE, an 18-track album that, at the time, was the culmination of one man’s life’s work; on the other hand, it embodies the advocacy for preserving the lives of ALL humankind.

He has continued collaborating with respected figures in electronic music, including a 2024 collaboration with trance icon Markus Schulz on “Turn! Turn! Turn!”, released on Coldharbour Recordings.

RECENT RELEASES & CURRENT FOCUS

In 2026, Sir Ivan released “Love Is The Piece,” an original composition widely regarded as the most personal and distilled expression of his lifelong message. Blending uplifting electronic production with deeply intentional lyrics, the track positions Sir Ivan not as a nostalgia act, but as a contemporary voice advocating empathy, unity, and nonviolence in an increasingly fractured world.

All proceeds from the release are dedicated to supporting PTSD research and communities most affected by trauma.

LEGACY IN PROGRESS

Today, Sir Ivan continues to record, collaborate, and advocate — standing at the intersection of electronic music, cultural commentary, and activism. His work reflects a rare consistency of purpose: using music not merely for spectacle, but as a tool for connection, remembrance, and hope.

Rather than slowing down, Sir Ivan’s post-2018 era represents a sharpening of focus — ensuring that the ideals of love, peace, and humanity remain not just remembered, but danced to.
